To who it may concern: I am pleased to offer a strong recommendation on behalf of Diana Lane, MSN, RN, an outstanding nurse educator and exemplary teacher and coach for the full range of nursing subjects. Diana’s more than 40 years’ experience in nursing practice and nursing education has provided her with a full understanding of the clinical practice and education environment. In addition to her experience in high intensity clinical settings, she has headed nursing programs and has remained current about how to educate nursing students, how to help them pass the NCLEX licensure examination and how to prepare them for the transition from student to the registered nurse role. I have personally experienced Diana’s passionate and skilled educational teaching techniques. She uses visual and computer tools that appeal to different learning styles and helps students refine their critical thinking and decision-making skills. One cannot help but be engaged in her teaching and coaching sessions because she brings such energy and dynamism to the content, concepts and patient care scenarios she uses to help students learn the material. As a result, students not only master, but also retain what they learned. Diana’s command of nursing subjects is complete and she uses a comprehensive approach to pathophysiology and pharmacology knowledge for teaching and mentoring students and faculty. She teaches critical care concepts in a manner that results in students being surprised that, what once seemed like impossible content and concepts are mastered and retained. I encourage you to invite her to your campus for one or more in-service sessions with your faculty and/or students in any level of pre-licensure nursing program. Since Diana is up-to-date with the changes in the NCSBN exam questions style, she increased the coaching on “Select all that apply (SATA)” and decision-making by the nurse. It is important to note that she also emphasizes the “national” scope of practice and not Florida or other specific state since candidates will be tested on the “N” in NCLEX which stands for National.   The feedback from the faculty and students has been very overwhelmingly positive especially from English Language Learners and students with extremely high anxiety. Once such individuals learn the techniques Diana teaches, their performance on course and NCLEX exams improves significantly. I recommend her to any and all schools of nursing who want to increase student retention and improved NCLEX pass rates without reservation.
